Interior Designers In UAE Reveal The Power Of Color For Business

November 25, 2013

A desert country often struggles with the monochromatic scheme of its landscape; therefore, it’s imperative for structures to provide some much needed splashes of contrasting hues to make the place appear more alive. The thing about the United Arab Emirates is that its people are actually quite colorful themselves; the locals or indigenous folks are highly skilled in the arts and crafts, and of course, the cuisine they produce is quite colorful as well with different kinds of vegetables, spices and even fruits – as if they strive for color to be added to their daily lives in an attempt to make up for the mostly sandy yellow vastness surrounding them.

In the world of interior design, color indeed serves such a purpose – it breathes life to the interior of a building that is normally just black or white (if not color-treated), both interpreted as “absence of color.” Splashes or streaks of red, blue, yellow, green and orange have the power to alter the feel and appeal of a building, and interior designers in UAE capitalize on these (as well as other vibrant tints) to harness great benefits for their clients’ business establishments.

For example, a retail store that sells girls’ or women’s clothes that has a colorful interior design not only supports the youthful image of the business but also manages to highlight the products sold and draw in more customers. Worth mentioning as well is how customers associate colors with certain experiences and if businesses use the colors linked with customers’ positive experiences, the business automatically secures a hold on these people. Some consumer studies even reveal that young girls (tweens and teens) are very likely to enter a predominantly pink store even if they do not really know what’s being sold. Why? Because most of them associate pink with a fond memory or item they have so every time they see it, they are compelled to determine what it is, what it’s for, and if its value is similar to all that the color has stood for in their lives.

Another great illustration would be how a lot of dining places have warm colors such as red, burnt sienna and orange. These colors stimulate the brain and with increased mental activity, one develops the idea that he/she needs to eat. Also, a lot of well-loved foods come in these colors so their appeal is partly due to the association people make with them.

What color power is this? It’s color psychology and interior designers know how to make this work. So if you’re a business owner, if you want to secure an advantage in your industry, and you are willing to explore a variety of strategies to enhance your operations’ performance, color psychology is certainly worth integrating to the interior design of your establishment. Hire creative interior designers to take care of it and your store can become a bigger income magnet.
