The theme of Al Jalila Children’s Hospital was a “whimsical magnified garden”. Insects and doodles of the outdoors playfully adorn surfaces from the facade to corridors ensuring that a fun, carefree aesthetic is instantly appreciated by visitors and patients. For the branding, a bright pop up brand book and other gift collateral were created in line with the vibrant environment graphics to catch the attention of corporate donors and government officials. 'The Drop-In' teen-lounge is waiting room for the teenage patients, an escape from the younger children section of the hospital. We designed a nature-inspired concept as a place for young visitors to escape to. Many of the features are shown in a way that is not consistent with everyday reality, such as flowers falling from the sky or trees growing from the ceiling.
